Nestled within a private game reserve spanning 1,000 acres of untouched South African bushveld, Villa Umkhaya offers a serene escape where you and the estate homeowners enjoy exclusive access to nature. This residential estate is home to a variety of gentle wildlife, with the well-being of our animals being a top priority for our game manager.

As you embark on a bushwalk, you may find yourself face-to-face with zebras, giraffes, gnus, kudus, nyalas, or impalas. Several well-maintained tracks allow for easy exploration by car, providing a unique opportunity for a game drive safari right in your backyard! It’s not uncommon to see wildlife wandering near the homes or taking a refreshing drink from the swimming pool.

The lush wilderness boasts an abundance of vegetation and natural flora, all preserved to maintain a healthy, balanced environment. Since the estate is not home to the Big Five, it offers a safe space for exploring on foot, by bike, or even on horseback. Bird enthusiasts will find the estate particularly appealing, with numerous breathtaking lookout points, picnic spots, and hiking trails. Additionally, a bird-watching screen is available near one of the three scenic lakes.

The expansive and tranquil setting of our holiday resort ensures ultimate privacy and an immersive nature experience, not only around the villa but also within the 650 acres of undeveloped land where wildlife roams freely.
